Server Hosting

• How do I create my own server? What is a listen/dedicated server? What is rcon?
  There are two ways to host a server:

  • Use the Counter-Strike 2D client (the program you use to play CS2D) - this is called a listen server
  • Use a special dedicated server software - this is called a dedicated server

  
  Rcon is short for remote control which allows you to remote control your server. This is essential for dedicated servers and normally not required for listen servers.
