  1. Open the options menu
  2. Select the sound tab
  3. Check if the volume is high enough (if not: change and click okay!)

  Please read the answer above if the volume is not the problem! Also make sure that your speakers are turned on!

  Another solution might be to install OpenAL. Especially on Linux. See Delayed/damaged/strange sounds!
